Dr. Shi is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University at Buffalo (UB), where he leads the Digital Porous Materials Laboratory. Prior to joining UB in 2023, he was a postdoctoral scholar with Prof. Randall Snurr in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Northwestern University. Dr. Shi completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University (NCSU) with Profs. Keith Gubbins and Erik Santiso. Prior to his Ph.D., he completed his B.E. in Polymer Materials and Engineering at East China University of Science & Technology (ECUST) in China. Dr. Shi won the ACS PRF Doctoral New Investigator Award in 2024.
